Antisemitic Vandalism Discovered Throughout California Strip Mall

The San Jose Police Department said its officers responded on Christmas Day at 1:45 p.m. to the 4000 block of Evergreen Village Square for a report of vandalism at several businesses.

SJPD said the reporting party told police that the businesses, including a Mathnasium location, had been vandalized with spray paint, featuring hate-related words and symbols, including a swastika.

The graffiti happened at a popular shopping plaza — Evergreen Village Square in east side San Jose. The swastika was painted on the first day of Hanukkah.

“This incident occurred in an affluent community on the east side of San Jose, where political views often differ from the majority…. Those responsible must be held accountable,” the San Jose NAACP said.

San Jose PD confirmed to KRON4 that the suspects have not been identified. Investigators said the case has been assigned to the department’s Hate Crime Unit.
