Nazi Symbol Appears in California College Restroom

A swastika was discovered in a restroom at College of the Redwoods’ (CR) Eureka campus yesterday morning, according to an email sent to students on March 11, 2025. The symbol, found in the first-floor women’s restroom of the Student Services/Administration building, was promptly removed after campus authorities were notified.

The College of the Redwoods Police Department (CRPD) is investigating the incident and conducting checks of all restrooms on campus, an email to students stated.

“Let us be clear: acts of hate, antisemitism, and discrimination have no place here,” the message read. “As a community, we stand against all forms of hate and remain committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all.”

In a statement to Redheaded Blackbelt, CR’s public information officer, Molly Blakemore wrote, in part, “College of the Redwoods condemns all forms of hate, antisemitism, and discrimination. We are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment where every member of our community is treated with dignity. Acts of hate have no place here, and we take these matters seriously. The College of the Redwoods Police Department is looking into the incident, and at this time, no similar incidents have been reported on campus.”
