‘Goyim Defense League’ (GDL) Harasses California Neighborhood with Anti-Jewish Leaflets

A Fresno Rabbi says it’s disgusting that antisemitic flyers were dropped on driveways in several Clovis neighborhoods over the weekend.

The Jewish advocacy group StopAntisemitism has been tracking the activities of those responsible – the Goyim Defense League’ or ‘GDL’ for over five years and state they vilify Jews with their premeditated hate campaigns.

Rabbi Rick Winer of Temple Beth Israel had this reaction. “It’s absolutely uncomfortable. It’s disgusting and there’s a whole lot of ignorance with it because they’re falling into these ancient tropes that have no being on fact whatsoever,” Winer said.

One homeowner who asked that we not identify her walked around the neighborhood collecting the flyers because she says they’re sickening.

“I read some of the headlines but I did not look into it. It’s just too hateful,” said the neighbor.

Rabbi Winer applauds her courage. “I prefer to and choose to focus on people like that who are not only sympathetic and kind and caring, but are actually doing something,” Winer said.

Sunday Clovis Police got several calls about the flyers. A police spokesman says officers spoke to several residents about their concerns and added extra patrols in the neighborhoods.

There’s no crime because the flyers are protected by the first amendment.

The woman who collected the flyers says they’re going straight to the trash can.

Last Thursday three men were arrested for causing a disturbance at Temple Bath Israel in Fresno.

Police says they were taping flyers with religious statements around the synagogue.
