Carmel Clay Schools superintendent said the district is standing against antisemitic language after “inappropriate content” was displayed at one booth during a recent international festival.
Carmel, IN – Families at Smokey Row Elementary were stunned by antisemitism at the school's International Festival on March 7.
Keffiyehs and Palestine were present, but Israel was not. The Palestinian display promoted antisemitic libel, including:

The annual festival was held at Smoky Row Elementary on March 7. In a letter to the community, Superintendent Michael Beresford apologized for the incident at the international festival.
“We stand firmly against any antisemitic language and remain dedicated to fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, respected and safe,” Beresford said in the letter.
Students and families present information about their cultural heritage at the elementary school international festival. One booth had content that stated “the children of Israel have always been a difficult nation” and asked “Did the Jews kill Issa (Jesus),?” according to the Current in Carmel.
