Councilwoman Taishya Adams

Council-member Taishya Adams of Boulder, CO has become a source of growing controversy due to her troubling conduct towards her Jewish constituents and her persistent promotion of anti-Israel rhetoric. Numerous formal complaints have been filed against Adams, yet the ethical and communal implications of her behavior remain deeply concerning.
Adams faced public criticism for blocking Jewish residents from her Instagram account, which she uses to share official city information. This action was seen as a discriminatory move that prevented constituents from engaging with public updates due to their religious identity. Additionally, Adams organized a city sponsored book group but denied participation to a Jewish resident and subsequently blocked others who voiced concerns. Critics argue that she misused her personal account for official business, then silenced those who challenged her.

Her conduct on social media has drawn further scrutiny. Adams has repeatedly promoted narratives aligned with the antisemitic Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which contributes to the demonization and isolation of Israel. On the one-year anniversary of the October 7 Hamas massacre, Adams shared a call to action from “ Within Our Lifetime,” a radical pro-Palestinian group accused of antisemitism. The post urged supporters to “flood” New York City, language that echoes Hamas’ branding of the attacks as the “Al-Aqsa Flood.” Notably, Adams has never explicitly condemned the atrocities committed by Hamas on 10/7.
Her official capacity as the Boulder City Council liaison to the Boulder-Nablus Sister City Project has also raised alarms. Adams’ role in the project, combined with her partisan rhetoric, has led many to question her ability to maintain neutrality, especially as she has championed anti-Israel policies, including a ceasefire resolution and a push for divestment from weapons manufacturers. Her critics contend that these efforts are part of a broader ideological agenda rather than a balanced policy approach.
Adams continued to post inflammatory anti-Israel content on social media, including a post labeling Israelis as “mobs of settlers” carrying out a “pogrom,” with a call to release Palestinian prisoners featuring a man in a Hamas headband. Despite this, she has never once used her platform to call for the release of American or Israeli hostages held by Hamas. She also shared a video claiming there is “Zionist infiltration of the US government and media.”

Adams’ refusal to support a city statement condemning a firebombing attack at a pro-Israel rally further intensified public backlash. She objected to the wording of the statement, arguing it equated “Free Palestine” rhetoric with antisemitism, a stance most interpreted as an unwillingness to condemn antisemitic violence. She outrageously claimed that the attacker was only targeting Zionists, arguing that labeling the act as antisemitic would be Islamophobic.
At a City Council meeting just one month after the October 7th attacks, Adams declared the council had “blood on our hands” – a phrase that deeply offended the community. A Boulder Daily Camera op-ed likened her language to the 2000 Ramallah lynching, where Palestinian militants murdered two Israeli soldiers and displayed their bloodied hands to a cheering mob. Although the statement was caught on video, Adams denied having made it.
These patterns of behavior have led community members to call for Councilwoman Taishya Adams’ removal from key roles. StopAntisemitism needs YOUR help! EMAIL Boulder, Colorado’s City Council and demand they remove Councilmember Taishya Adams over her antisemitism.
