Maya Abdallah — Antisemite of the Week

Maya Abdallah, aka Maya Ayooni, is a 23-year-old Palestinian-Lebanese social media influencer whose online activity has repeatedly sparked controversy for promoting antisemitic rhetoric. Maya first gained attention in October 2023, when she claimed that her screenwriting submissions were being rejected because the entertainment industry is “run by Zionists”. Since then, her hostility towards the Jewish people and nation has only intensified. With a platform reaching more than 2 million people, Maya now uses her influence to vilify Jews and Israel under the guise of Palestinian activism.

Maya has repeatedly posted content that promotes and incites violence against Jews. She publicly glorifies terrorists and condones real-world acts of antisemitic violence. Examples include:

In a video, Maya is seen wearing a T-shirt of Layla Khaled while asking “do you know who else they called a terrorist?” Layla Khaled, a member of the PFLP (a US. designated terrorist organization) is best known for being the first woman to ever hijack an airplane. Later in the video, Maya states, “If you don’t like armed resistance, don’t be a violent oppressor.”
She equates Palestinian resistance to American independence to justify violence and frames acts of terrorism as “fighting against genocide.”
Following the pogroms in Amsterdam in 2024, Maya promoted these acts of violence saying, “yes beat them (Israelis) up, I stand by that” above a caption that reads, “Amsterdam please do it again.”
In an alarming video, Maya goes on a rant against Zionists (95% of Jewish people worldwide) saying that “you should be treating a Zionist the same way you would treat a Nazi” and “they should and need to be ostracized from all of society.” She follows up by instructing her followers to not let Zionists have “a comfortable moment” and to kick them out of events, refuse to serve them at restaurants, etc. concluding by saying “make these people’s lives a living hell.”
After 2 Jewish individuals were murdered in D.C., Maya shared a video online stating that she does not “believe in the outrage for two adults who are literally aiding and abetting genocide…”

In other videos, Maya utilizes rhetoric that actively dehumanizes Jews and incites fear. She equates Zionism with Nazism, promotes conspiracy theories about Israel controlling the world, and portrays Jewish people as inherently evil and dangerous.

In a video speaking about an Israeli flag on a billboard, Maya states, “When I tell you all the evil in the world is connected, I am so serious…” and then states, “Zionism is Nazism.”
Maya claims that Israel is “literally running the world right now” and begins the same video by stating, “Israel is literally the most evil entity in the world. Not only is it ruining the lives of Palestinian people but it’s ruining all of our lives across the world because all of our politicians are slaves to Israel…”
In talking about Israelis, Maya declares that “these people will steal anything that isn’t glued down to the floor…” and instructs the people of Cyprus to not let Israelis “get comfortable” because “these people are ruthless.”
In a video, Maya says that “Zionists are literally the dumbest f*cking people on the planet…you can’t (have a civilized conversation) with them…” She then spreads misinformation claiming “they (Israel) literally kidnapped Greta Thunberg at gunpoint, sprayed her with an unknown white chemical, took her hostage and gave her no communication with the outside world…”

Furthermore, Maya erases Jewish history and indigeneity, denies documented atrocities, and blames Israel for global antisemitism. Examples of her claims include:

Maya captione d her Tik Tok video “Israel is the largest antisemitic project in the world.”
She denied all accounts of rape by Hamas on 10/7 calling them “unsubstantiated rape claims” with “no proof.”
She posted a video captioned “POV you’re on a date with a Zionist” in which she says “do you want me to take (this restaurant) for you? You can have it, you’re a chosen one.” She continues the video by mocking 10/7, minimizing Jewish trauma, and erasing Jewish indigeneity.

Maya Abdallah uses her massive platform to vilify Israel and weaponize antisemitic narratives against Jews worldwide, inciting hatred, spreading misinformation, and creating real-world danger for Jewish communities. She crosses far beyond legitimate criticism, exploiting antisemitic conspiracies and tropes to promote hate.
