Trio Smash Synagogue Windows on Rosh Hoshanah in Brooklyn

Security camera footage of vandals smashing a window of a synagogue in Williamsburg section of Brooklyn during Rosh Hashanah prayers.

A synagogue was vandalized in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn during the second day of Rosh Hashanah this week, with the perpetrators being caught on camera. It happened in the middle of the high holiday prayers around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at a synagogue on Throop Street at the corner of Bartlett Street.

Police say three people were caught on camera running down the street when one picks up what appears to be a milk crate as another picks up what appears to be a metal box, both throwing the objects at the window of the synagogue. The third person appeared to serve as a lookout for the trio, who then sped off on foot.

The incident is the latest in a series of attacks on Jews and Jewish institutions in Brooklyn, which have included vandalism, verbal harassment and physical assaults.
