Anti-Semitic Graffiti Found in Stoughton Park

Anti-Semitic graffiti was found in several locations in chalk throughout Halloran Park, Stoughton, on Wednesday, Aug.14, according to Stoughton police.

Police called Matt Cauchon, Stoughton’s acting parks and recreation director, at about noon, Town Manager Robin Grimm said in a press release.

Cauchon immediately went to the park and began removing the markings, and the Stoughton Facilities Department is continuing the clean-up.

Police and several other town departments are working to determine the perpetrator.

“This behavior is intolerable,” Grimm stated.

She added that she will work with police to ensure that any suspect is caught and punished accordingly.

“This behavior is not reflective of the Stoughton I have had the privilege of getting to know this past year,” Grimm said. “Town Hall will do everything in its power to send the message that what happened today is not indicative of who we are as a community.”
