Beverly Hills police Saturday were investigating antisemitic fliers distributed in the city’s north end on the holiday of Passover.
The fliers were reported around noon near the corner of Loma Vista Drive and Carla Ridge, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department.
Candidate for Los Angeles City Council District 5, Sam Yebri, posted photos of the fliers to his Twitter account Friday, indicating they had been posted in neighboring Westwood, in L.A. proper, as well.
“Hate has no place in [Council District 5] or anywhere, especially on the eve of the Passover and Easter holidays,” Yebri said.
StopAntisemitism, the watchdog group that monitors antisemitism and threats against the Jewish people, tweeted about the incident over the weekend.
“There is no credible threat and no threat to public safety,” Sgt. Ryan Dolan of the Beverly Hills PD said as officers worked to collect the fliers.
Investigators believe the fliers may have originated from the same person and group – Goyim Defense League and their leader Jon Minadeo II, – responsible for posting antisemitic fliers in other parts of the city in recent months.
Anyone with information regarding the fliers has been asked to call the Los Angeles Police Department at (877) 275-5273.
