New Hampshire Law Enforcement Search for Assailant Seen Defacing Synagogue

Police are seeking a person accused of vandalizing a Jewish temple in Portsmouth, New Hampshire earlier this week, according to authorities.

The Portsmouth Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the individual shown in images shared from Temple Israel on State Street. The person is accused of striking two lamp that have the Star of David displayed on them around 8:30 p.m. Monday.

“We are asking the public’s assistance identifying this individual. Should you know who this is, please contact Dave Keaveny, Investigative Division Captain at 603 610-7511,” the department said in a statement posted to Facebook on Friday.

Rewards of up to $1,000 may be paid for help solving cases if the information leads to an arrest or indictment of a suspect, according to the department.
