Nazi Symbol Discovered in Jewish Subdivision in Florida

Coconut Creek police launched an investigation into who painted a swastika on a door in Wynmoor.

Wynmoor security found the Nazi hate symbol on March 5 painted on a utility door in the 4400 block of Martinique Court, said Scott Leamon, a spokesman for Coconut Creek Police Department.

It was in a building within the sprawling development with a sizable Jewish population, including Holocaust survivors.

Security reported the graffiti to the police the following day, he said.

By the time police were called in, the mark was painted over, Leamon said.

However, police do have a picture.

It’s unclear if the Swastika was directed at any individual.

But if it was, it could be a possible hate crime, Leamon said.

Last year, a crew in Wynmoor cleaned up another swastika painted in a parking spot after it was discovered by a resident.

The mark — about 12 inches by 12 inches — was found in a parking area in the 1500 block of Cayman Way, and reported to police on Feb. 19, police said.

At the time, police had no suspects.
