Dead Skunk Found Inside Suitcase with Red Swastika

South Simcoe Police are investigating a swastika painted on a metal case dumped on the side of the road in Innisfil. Inside the case, was also a dead skunk.

The discovery was made Monday afternoon by resident Maggie Mitchell in the area of Killarney Beach Road and Corner Avenue.

Mitchell found the briefcase across the street from the post office She called the Town of Innisfil to remove it.

”We at South Simcoe police do not tolerate any hate-related crime of any nature,” Sgt. Deborah Smith said.

Residents in Lefroy say this isn’t the first time antisemitism has appeared in town. “It’s happened before. Houses being broken into damages swastikas painted before, sick people,” resident George Gordon said.

The area is home to two synagogues; “have a look at the history of what a swastika stands for and where it came from. The violence the horrific crimes against humanity, educate yourself and just stop it,” Mitchell added.

In a statement to CTV News, police say they believe the incident is isolated.
